In Funeral Planning!
From the moment you step into our modern offices you will begin to feel at ease, like the weight lifted from your shoulders, refreshed in the knowledge we will be there to help organise the funeral you want, leaving you with time to make plans and decide what you want for the funeral service or spend time alone with your family and friends, just as you please.
Gone are the over stuffy and heavily decorated walls and rooms most funeral directors provide that seem to increase our burden at the time of loss, replaced instead with light, fresh and airy rooms, decorated in shades of soothing pastel colours offering a new spirit of comfort to all who visit.
We are the first to offer a range of services not known or offered by other funeral directors. This enables you to have a funeral, exactly as you want it!!?
We are also the first funeral service company to advertise on local Smooth Radio 105.7fm in a simple attempt to reach as many people within the greater Birmingham area and offer them our wonderfully unique service! Listen out for us!!
Through this website you are given all the choice you need to guarantee the funeral you want, is the one you will get. Being comprehensive in its content and simple to follow, it will help make the most unbearable of times a little easier to deal with when it arrives.
You will know more about what you have to do in times of loss and feel comfortable in calling at any time of the day or night, knowing we will respond when you need us.
You’re also welcome to visit our offices if you require help regarding a funeral needed now or in the future, where you will find us happy to provide information without obligation.

Independent Family Funeral Directors serving Solihull, Birmingham & the West Midlands.
The past few years has seen a growing appreciation in the need for different funeral directors.
It seems the days are also passing when people are happy to allow a funeral director to take charge of their family funeral and conduct it in a fashion more in the way the funeral director wants, than how the family or deceased would have liked.
We also thought it strange that, although we now live in the 21st Century it seems that when we die, we go back to the 19th for our funeral?
From here Colour My Funeral was conceived!

Simply put, we believe that a funeral should reflect all that represented a person while they were alive, much more a celebration of life!
We want to offer families the full choice of how, where and when, for the funeral they want.
How simple, how elaborate or anywhere between is your choice.
Your Choice!
Our Forget-Me-Not Funeral is a simple, dignified and affordable no fuss funeral.
Our Poppy Funeral is a salute to the men and women that have served Great Britain during conflict and peacetime.
For those more creative, or with a desire to fulfil a service for one of ‘Life’s Characters’ the option to fully personalise a funeral is without doubt, now here!
A host of funeral choice services await those looking to personalise their own or a family members funeral.
Look through our website to find a whole new way to celebrate someone’s life, with choice and colour being yours for the asking!
You make the choices; we for our part will take away the problems of paperwork and officialdom, in a professionally, respectful, caring manner that will culminate in the ultimate ‘Send off’.
Look no further Colour My Funeral can do all these things!

When someone close to us dies, there follows a time of great sadness, perhaps utter devastation at the loss of the one we love and yet, although at this time we may begin to feel alone, numb, sort of ‘living in a bubble’ we are fully aware that we have many preparations to make and lots of organising to do for a funeral that we don’t really want to face.
Ironically it’s at this time of loneliness, that we need help the most!?
Colour My Funeral are here to do just that, take away the pressure of arranging the funeral, with its paper-work, legalities and officiating, giving you more time to spend alone with your thoughts, or with family and friends, talking over the good times, playing favourite tunes and just being together.

Information that will help
Following a Death
If you're not present at the time of a loved one's passing, the doctor, hospital or nursing home will inform you that death has occurred and issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death.
If death has occurred at the family home, nursing home or hospice, relatives or nursing staff usually contact the funeral director to take care
of the deceased.
This can be done immediately at any time of the day or night, or if preferred, you can wait until the following morning.
When someone dies, people and organisations need to be told and documents completed. Some of these things can be done by a close relative or friend.
Others may need to be done by the executor or administrator of the estate, especially if there is a will available.
You can also be assured that your comfort and support is important to all our staff to help you through this difficult time.

When and Where to register a death
A death normally needs to be registered within five days, although different time limits apply in the case of stillbirth.
Once you have done so you will be given a death certificate, take this and get serveral copies made; these will come in handy to give to solicitors, insurance companies and banks etc, to release life assurance and account money.
To avoid delays, it is high to go to the register office in the area in which the person died; you can choose another register office but it may take longer to get the necessary documents and this could delay the funeral arrangements.
Registration may also be delayed if the death is referred to the coroner.
Registering the death will take about half an hour and you may need to make an appointment beforehand, so contact the office first so as
to not waste your time.

Documents and information you will need & receive.
Documents
When registering a death you will need to take the following:
• Medical certificate of the cause of death (signed by a doctor)
And if available:
• Birth certificate
• Marriage/civil partnership certificates
• NHS medical card
Information
You will need to tell the registrar:
• The deceased’s full names at the time of death
• Any names previously used, including maiden surname
• The deceased’s date and place of birth (town and county if born in the UK and country if born abroad)
• Their last address
• Their occupation
• The full name, date of birth and occupation of a surviving spouse or civil partner
• Whether the deceased was receiving a state pension or any other state benefits
When you are given the death certificate bring it to us and we will take care of everything else for you.
Documents you will receive
If a post-mortem is not being held, the registrar will issue you with:
• A Certificate for Burial or Cremation (called the ‘green form’) giving permission for the body to be buried or for an application for cremation
to be made (if the body is to be cremated, the GP or hospital will arrange for a second doctor to sign the cremation certificate)
• A Certificate of Registration of Death (form BD8) issued for social security purposes if the deceased received a state pension or benefits
(read the information on the back and complete and return it if it applies)

If the death is referred to the coroner
In a small number of cases, where the cause of death is unclear, sudden or suspicious, the doctor or hospital or registrar will report the death
to the coroner.
In this case registration of the death will be delayed.
If a post-mortem is needed, the coroner will issue any necessary documents as quickly as possible afterwards.
N.B.
In this situation don’t worry, you will still be able to make provisional arrangements for the funeral with us, just call back to
the office.

Finally?
.........there is no finally!
Whether planning your own or someone else’s, your choice of funeral is a very personal decision, one that you will have to live
with for the rest of your life!
Lots of people may try to help you and some will lead you down a road you don’t want to go.
Most, if not all with good intentions, they might make decisions on your behalf trying to save you money, or spend your money,
urging you to get on with life.
Do not be rushed into things. Take time to decide what you really want to do, because of all the things we can do two, three or more times in life, the decisions of a funeral can only be made once and will be final!!
Colour My Funeral gives you the opportunity to make those decisions and to create the funeral that feels right for you.
One that you want, and is more in keeping with who you are, who you were, and how you want to be remembered.
This way, it will be for all to witness!
Everyone will remember you just as you were and in the unique sadness of their own loss, they will be filled with the joy that
you had entered their life!
then finally..........
....................when the ‘Book of Life’ is closed,
there will always be a memory to open it again!
Remember if you are looking for a cheap funeral our Forget-Me-Not Funeral is extremely great value for £950 + disbursements.
